The Public Theater, New York’s largest not-for-profit performing arts theatre, required an institutional brochure to entice potential sponsors. The brochure leveraged historical importance the theatre had in launching the careers of many of Hollywood’s biggest stars. Additionally, the brochure was designed as a homage to the long tradition of outstanding typography and poster design by Paul Davis in the 1970s and 1980s and Paula Scher in the 1990s and 2000s.
